Dundas Castle Wedding Photography
I photographed Ivy and Pauleon’s Dundas Castle wedding photography in Scotland, and their day is a beautiful example of why so many couples travel from overseas to get married here. Coming from the United States with their closest people, they planned an intimate destination wedding that felt meaningful, relaxed, and full of joy, set against the timeless backdrop of one of Scotland’s most iconic castle venues.
Just outside Edinburgh, Dundas Castle offers a rare balance of grandeur and warmth. For Ivy and Pauleon, it was the perfect setting for a celebration that blended elegant styling with deeply personal moments, all captured in a natural, documentary wedding photography approach.

A Private Vow Exchange Before the Ceremony
Before the ceremony, Ivy and Pauleon chose to share something incredibly special together. Away from their guests, they read personal vows to one another in private — just the two of them. With myself and my second shooter stepping back, they were able to be fully present, taking everything in without distraction.
These are the moments that matter most — unguarded, emotional and completely real. Photographing this part of the day in a documentary way allowed the story to unfold naturally, resulting in some of the most meaningful images from their wedding.

Getting Ready at Dundas Castle
Ivy got ready in one of the castle’s beautiful suites alongside her wedding party, the morning unfolding with a calm, excited energy. We took a little time for relaxed bridal portraits before the ceremony, making the most of the castle’s elegant interiors and soft natural light.
Having the entire day take place in one location made everything feel seamless and unhurried. It’s one of the many reasons destination weddings in Scotland are so appealing for couples travelling from abroad.

A Ceremony in the Keep
The ceremony took place in the Keep, styled beautifully with rich tones of deep green and burgundy, candlelight, draping and statement florals. A live string quartet played as guests were seated, setting the tone for Ivy’s entrance and adding to the sense of occasion.
The combination of music, styling and historic surroundings created an atmosphere that felt both romantic and immersive — a ceremony that truly reflected the significance of the day.

Evening Celebrations at Dundas Castle
As the day moved into the evening, the energy shifted completely. After dinner, guests were straight onto the dance floor for a hilariously chaotic game that had everyone laughing and cheering.
To open the dancing, Ivy and Pauleon surprised their guests with a beautifully choreographed tango. Confident, expressive and completely unexpected, it was the perfect way to kick off the evening celebrations and set the tone for the rest of the night.

A Joy-Filled Scottish Castle Wedding
From private vows to full dance-floor celebrations, Ivy and Pauleon’s wedding at Dundas Castle was the perfect balance of elegance, emotion and fun. A truly unforgettable Scottish castle destination wedding, and a privilege to photograph from start to finish.
