Some weddings just glow with love from start to finish. Joanna & Scott’s Carlowrie Castle wedding was one of those unforgettable days. From a calm, laughter-filled morning through to a wild ceilidh dance floor at night, this celebration had everything.
Joanna looked breathtaking in her KYHA Studios gown. A special handmade neck scarf, gifted by her mum, completed her look. This personal touch made her bridal style even more unique. The whole day carried a relaxed, easy-going energy, until the band kicked in and everyone was straight onto the floor.

Ceremony in the Orangery at Carlowrie Castle
The ceremony took place in Carlowrie Castle’s stunning Orangery. It was a bright and elegant space. The setting felt both grand and intimate. There were so many emotional moments. Scott’s eyes filled with emotion as Joanna walked down the aisle on her dad’s arm. Her best friend wiped away tears during the vows and pride radiated from both their parents.
They chose to include a traditional Scottish handfasting, which added even more meaning to the vows. It was a ceremony filled with heartfelt words, laughter, and love, the perfect start to their Carlowrie Castle wedding.

Family & Group Photos
Right after the ceremony, we set aside 15 minutes for relaxed family photos. Then we took some fun wedding party shots with the bridesmaids and groomsmen. It was a joy, with plenty of laughter in between — the perfect balance of those meaningful moments with family and the more playful energy of the wedding party.

Romantic Portraits Around Carlowrie Castle
Carlowrie Castle is one of Edinburgh’s most iconic wedding venues, and it gave us the most stunning backdrops for portraits. From the bridal suite in the morning, where Joanna’s details and heirlooms were beautifully laid out, to the castle gardens and Orangery, every space reflected their stylish and romantic vibe.
Couple portraits around the castle grounds were relaxed but equally breathtaking (that castle backdrop!)— just the two of them soaking up that just-married feeling before heading back in to celebrate.

A Marquee Reception Full of Laughter
The reception was held in the marquee, with speeches before dinner. From Joanna’s maid of honour’s heartfelt words to the fun and laughter from the groomsmen, it was such a joy to capture every reaction.

A Dance Floor to Remember
As the evening drew in, the energy completely shifted to party time! Joanna & Scott cut their cake before their first dance, then the ceilidh band took over and the marquee came alive. The dance floor was packed from the start — spinning, laughing, and full of that unmistakable Scottish wedding joy.
Joanna & Scott, thank you for trusting me to capture such a magical day at Carlowrie Castle. From the tender, emotional ceremony to the wild energy of the evening ceilidh, it was an absolute dream to be part of your story.
