Clare & Callum’s modern wedding at Virgin Hotel Edinburgh was a dream to photograph! Set in the heart of the city on the iconic Victoria street, Virgin Hotel provided the perfect stylish backdrop for their chic Edinburgh celebration. From the stunning architecture to the luxurious, contemporary interiors, Virgin Hotel Edinburgh had everything needed for a modern, romantic wedding. I absolutely love photographing here, not only are all the staff so welcoming, but the mix of historic features and sleek city style makes for such incredible images. My documentary and editorial approach is all about capturing real moments in a natural, artistic way, and this venue lends itself beautifully to that, whether it’s golden-hour portraits on the rooftop or candid, laughter-filled moments in Eve’s bar. Being able to tell a wedding story in a setting like this is always such a joy!
Clare spent the morning getting ready in one of the Virgin Hotel’s super cool suites, the perfect setting for a relaxed bridal prep session. The spacious room, filled with natural light and modern décor, provided a chic backdrop as Stacey Deane Bridal Hair and Abbie Bridal Makeup created Clare’s effortlessly stunning bridal look. Clare wore a beautiful Maggie Sottero dress from Emma Roy, Edinburgh’s Premier Bridal Boutique. (Just look at those delicate pearl details!) Clare also had a lovely first look with her Dad. It was such a special, emotional moment and one of my favourite parts of the morning.
While the girls finished up, I popped away for ten minutes to catch Callum and the guys enjoying a quick drink and calming nerves downstairs in the hotel’s Commons Club Bar.
Clare and Callum’s ceremony was at Edinburgh’s historic City Chambers which felt intimate, emotional, and perfectly personal. Surrounded by their closest family and friends, they exchanged vows in the heart of Edinburgh’s Old Town, followed by groups shots and a confetti throw on the royal mile.
After the ceremony, we strolled Edinburgh’s iconic streets for some relaxed portraits. Starting on the historic Royal Mile, we then headed down to colourful Victoria Street, capturing some fun, vibrant city shots along the way.
Next up, we arrived at Virgin Hotel Edinburgh, where the couple were met with a glass of fizz. We took full advantage of the hotel’s iconic red lounge, capturing a few flash portraits. Just before the celebrations fully kicked off, we stepped out onto the rooftop terrace for stunning views overlooking Edinburgh Castle. If you’re planning a Virgin Hotel wedding, trust me—the rooftop alone makes it completely worth it!
It was my first time working alongside the lovely Claire from @contentbyclaire__, and oh my goodness—it was so much fun! Claire captured all the amazing behind-the-scenes moments, and I’m so looking forward to working with her again later this year. Check out her work; she’s fabulous!
The talented supplier team added their magic throughout the day. Stacey Deane Bridal Hair and Abbie Bridal Makeup created Clare’s gorgeous bridal look, complemented beautifully by vibrant flowers from Save the Date Collective. Clare & Callum opted for a donut wall from Kilted Donut instead of a traditional cake cutting, which guests absolutely loved! DJ Mark Martin kept the dance floor packed all night, creating the perfect party atmosphere!
Thank you so much, Clare & Callum! Your Virgin Hotel Edinburgh wedding was incredible, and I absolutely loved capturing every minute of it.
